Each year the Island Estates Civic Association conducts a Holiday Lighting Contest to help residents of its community get into the holiday spirit. This year, members of the board rented the Jolly Trolley and cruised the neighborhood in search of holiday lights and yard decorations. This year, awards will be given to the best lit business; the best lit condo development; first, second and third place for the front of single family residences and first place for the back of single family residences.
The following winners have been identified:
Frank Dame, president of the Civic Association stated, "On behalf of each of our board members, I wish to thank all of our neighbors who participated in this year's Holiday Lighting Contest. Their efforts are appreciated and help to bring in the holiday spirit to Island Estates." Winners will be notified by a board member and will be given gift certificates to our local businesseses purchased by the Association.
