The Varsity and Junior High Cheerleading squads of Northside Christian School (NCS) brought the New Year in by finishing first at the annual National Christian Cheerleading Championship hosted by the Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders. Both squads represented Northside Christian School (St. Petersburg) in front of a crowd in excess of 2,200, and competed alongside of over 100 other squads with over 1,300 participants. More than 20 states were represented at this invitation only event at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. NCS's routine featured great stunts, powerful jumps, sharp motions, and great crowd appeal. In addition to the National Title, the Junior High squad was awarded three individual awards… "Best Stunts," "Best Jumps/Tumbling," and "Best Showmanship." Teams are coached by Wendy White, Northside Christian School alumna, Lisa Alder and Rhonda Esponita.
