Abilities Guild Learns About The Issues

(l-r) Guild President Bill Hollingsworth, Ellie Williams (mother of Karen Seel), County Commissioner Karen Seel, and Foundation President and CEO Frank De Lucia

On January 20 the Abilities Guild, a fundraising group for the Abilities Foundation, held their General Membership Meeting at the Belleair Country Club where County Commissioner Karen Seel addressed the group on Pinellas green spaces, transportation and homeless issues.

Abilities Guild is interested in all issues particularly as how they pertain to the disabled population and how the Guild can support the Foundation on these issues. A lively Q & A followed the presentation.

The Abilities Guild has supported the Abilities Foundation since 1983 by raising money and awareness of the Foundation's efforts and successes to meet the needs of disabled people through job training and placement, housing, health and recreational opportunities.

On March 3, the Abilities Guild General Meeting will be held at the Marriot on Sand Key, Clearwater Beach. Guest speakers will present a program on the Foundation's training process and job placement offered through its facilities.

For reservations call 642-5745. Deadline for reservations is February 27.
