Our country is headed for two-language status. It is not yet officially at that point that is, de jure, as a matter of law, but the de facto dual language used in telephone instructions and in public announcements in places like airports will take root and like "Topsy just growed" we will in fact be a two-language country.
Every one of us comes from immigrants, many of them speaking a foreign language. The theme of America was that new arrivals adjusted to what was here. Not that what was here adapted to the newcomers.
We are living in times where what was once unacceptable has become okay. Sheriff Jim Coats struck a blow against this permissiveness with his recent announcement that adulterous conduct in his department would be dealt with severely.
Illegals crowd into our country and are given every advantage - and more - of full citizens although they are, in fact, lawbreakers.
