Legally Blonde Scribe Kirsten Smith Presents Workshop At Clearwater Main Library

CLEARWATER - Where Kirsten Smith goes, success follows. She sold her first screenplay,"Ten Things I Hate About You," as a spec to Disney, and the resulting film launched the careers of Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger. Her screenwriting talents skyrocketed when she penned the 2001 mega watt hit "Legally Blonde" with Reese Witherspoon. Not bad for a writer who calls herself a poet.

Smith will present "Legally Blonde," a question and answer session for aspiring screenwriters at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, at the Clearwater Main Library, 100 N. Osceola Ave. Participants can discuss the creative writing process with Smith in an informal setting. The event is free to the public.

The Friends of the Library will host a reception after the program. For more information, call 562-4970 ext. 5284. The event is open seating and free to the public.
