Talking Book Service To Celebrate 75th Anniversary

On March 3, the Pinellas Talking Book Library will host a 75th birthday celebration commemorating Braille and Talking Book Library Day.

The Pratt-Smoot Act passed on March 3, 1931, established free library services for blind adults under the Library of Congress administration. The eligibility has since been expanded and now includes persons with a physical handicap or reading disability.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The library will have cake and ice cream. Drop by and help observe this historic occasion. The celebration is open to all. For more information call at 441-9958.
