All Ages Flock To "Dunedin Books A Party"

Photos/text by Sandi Fahy

Getting settled for their ride in the caboose of the Dunedin Express at the Dunedin Books A Party celebration at the Dunedin Public Library on April 22 are (at left) Jake Jahns, 20 months, accompanied by his parents, Doug and Colleen Jahns, and (at right) Bishop Grimes, 3, there with dad Steve Grimes. Wishing them a good ride is library employee Kim Brannen (standing at right). The fun day featured costume characters, crafts, storytimes, a hula hoop contest and sack races for the younger set. Adults had the opportunity to meet award-winning authors and poets and take advantage of writing workshops and seminars. A book sale was also scheduled in conjunction with the event.

University of South Florida mass communications professor Rick Wilbur of St. Petersburg, author of text books, novels and short stories, at left, and mystery writer Charlotte Douglas, who resides in Dunedin and has authored some 30 novels, are ready to autograph their latest books at the Dunedin Books A Party at the Dunedin Public Library on April 22.
