CLEARWATER - The Clearwater Beach patrol will host its 5th annual Ocean Mile Swim just north of Pier 60, May 13, June 10 and July 8. Swimmers of all ages will have the opportunity to compete for awards in various age categories as well as for the top overall male and female competitor. Registration begins at 6 a.m., and the race starts at 7:30 am. Entry fee is $20 per event; race day registration is $25. Funds from the event will support the Junior Lifeguard Program.
The Beach Patrol provides supervision 365 days a year on approximately 1.3 miles of beachfront. Lifeguards provide minor medial assistance, emergency aquatic rescues, assistance in finding lost children and code enforcement
