SEARCY, Ark. - Allen Henry, of Clearwater, was part of the 33rd annual Spring Sing musical skit competition at Harding University April 13-15. Henry is a freshman majoring in Bible.
The all-student revue, featuring 800 University students, is an event of the annual Youth Forum, when more than 2,000 teenagers from across the nation gather on the Searcy campus for a full schedule of events. About 12,000 guests attended the four Spring Sing productions in Benson Auditorium. The theme of the year's production was "Toon In!"
Dating back to 1974, Spring Sing began when a group of students planned a small-scale musical showcase for campus guests. The shows are judged for originality, costume, choreography and music, and cash awards and plaques are presented following Saturday night's show. This year the cash awards were donated to Muscular Dystrophy Association, Searcy Children's Home, Sunshine School, and CASA.
