Jessica Flammer, a senior at Palm Harbor University, and Erin Hackett, a senior at Clearwater High School, have been chosen as recipients of the "Young Women in Public Affairs" award which includes a $750 scholarship. Each year, the Zonta Club of Pinellas County selects local seniors based on community involvement and academic achievements.
Jessica will attend Elon University in North Carolina with plans to study Political Science and International Relations with a minor in Spanish.
Erin will be attending St. Petersburg College with plans to study business and pre-law.
Zonta International is a worldwide service club of executive women who work to improve the legal, political, economic and professional status of women. The local club supports "Women on the Way" of SPC, The Haven of RCS, the Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation and Community Pride Child Care.
