Morton Plant Mease - Coping With The Loss Of A Newborn

CLEARWATER - Families experiencing a stillborn or newborn death are not alone. Morton Plant Mease Health Care will offer training programs for caregivers interested in gaining skills to help counsel parents struggling with the death of an infant.

On June 1 and 2, the RTS (Resolve Through Sharing) Bereavement Training Program in Pregnancy Loss and Newborn Death will be held to train nurses, clergy members, physicians, physician's assistants, nurse midwives, social workers and funeral directors on how to interact with family members experiencing perinatal loss. In addition, on June 3, a RTS Coordinator Training Program will be offered for individuals who have previously completed bereavement training. Both programs will be offered from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Morton Plant Mease Cheek-Powell Heart and Vascular Pavilion, 455 Pinellas Street on the campus of Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater.

For more information on program registration and fees, please call Bereavement Services at 1-800-362-9567 ext. 53568.
