Largo Public Library's gallery will feature artist Brooke Allison's award winning pastel paintings through July 31. Allison has received numerous awards for her unique approach of combining abstraction and realism in her pastel paintings. She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and The American Academy of Art in Chicago. Allison has exhibited widely throughout the United States including New York City and Chicago.
In 2005, she received the Pastel Society of the Southwest Award from The Pastel Society of American International Exhibition. Her works have been featured in American Artist Magazine and have been purchased for corporate collections. She is an art instructor for the Dunedin Fine Art Center and is the president of Professional Association of Visual Arts.
