
LARGO - Gary Dahlke, Thermal Protection Systems Engineer with the John F. Kennedy Space Center will present The Shuttle Era of Human Space Flight and Beyond, a lecture on the Center's current missions and their new space objectives on Thursday, June 15, at 7 p.m. in Room B of the Jenkins Community Wing.
Dahlke will discuss the phasing out of the Space Shuttle program by 2010, and the new lunar and Mars explorations to put crew and cargo on the surface of the moon and Mars.
Dahlke worked with ballistic missile maintenance in the USAF, and worked on payload integration activities on the Titan IV launch vehicle, and flight crew training at Johnson Space Center in Houston. He has a Masters of Aeronautical Science degree and is currently employed by the Kennedy Space Center as an engineer for the Space Shuttle program.
