CLEARWATER - The Leading Ladies of PAC, Inc. officers for 2006-2007 were installed by Kathy Rabon at a luncheon held at the Carlouel Yacht Club on May 25. Executive officers for the 2006-2007 year are: president, Kelly Machbitz; 1st vice president, Karen White; 2nd vice president, Roberta Christenson; recording secretary, Gail Van Zenten; corresponding secretary, Yvonne Reed; treasurer, Sue Bowles; assistant treasurer, Bunny Johnson; parliamentarian, Pat Jordan; advisor, past president, Anne Lauder.
Out-going president Anne Lauder presented a check, the proceeds from the 2005-2006 fundraising efforts of Leading Ladies, to Joyce Wehner, Director of Education and Community Affairs with the Education Department of Ruth Eckerd Hall.
Ms. Wehner recounted a story to the group of a young boy who would not speak or relate to any one in his school, and by participating in the Performing Arts Program "came out of his shell to perform his part in the play speaking perfect English without an accent of any kind." She thanked the group for helping children such as this young boy find himself through the performing arts.
