CLEARWATER - At Third Street and Coronado Drive, workers are getting ready to install a stormwater collection system that will go to a discharge point at the seawall. Fifth Street is closed at Coronado Drive, where crews are working on a Progress Energy conflict box in the "old" northbound lane. This means that traffic is being diverted to the west. Clearwater Gas System is completing the relocation of a 4-inch gas line near Alex's Family Restaurant going north to the Golden Villa Motel. That work is necessary to allow the contractor to install storm pipes.
Clearwater will host a Hard Hat meeting Tuesday, July 11, at 9:30 a.m., for those interested in learning more about the project. The meeting will be held at the Barefoot Beach House, 332 South Gulfview Blvd. on Clearwater Beach. Parking is available only in the South Beach parking lot.
Two lanes of traffic remain open on Coronado Drive, and drivers are cautioned to observe the 20-mile per hour speed limit.
