SPAINSH LANGUAGE BILLBOARD SLATED FOR LOS ANGELES

McCain billboard hits downtown Phoenix

Los Angeles, CA - Minuteman Project Founder Jim Gilchrist is a former Marine who won't be on Sen. McCain's invitation list any time soon.

After announcing a nationwide billboard campaign to combat illegal immigration, Gilchrist reports that the response from the American people, including many legal immigrants, has been loud and clear: "Stop the invasion by illegals, and hold the government accountable for its responsibility to protect our borders!"

Because of the rapid response from volunteers and donors, the first billboard will be up ahead of schedule on July 2, in Phoenix, AZ.

"If the government won't act, then we, the American people, will just have to do the jobs that government won't do," said Gilchrist, in a play on the rhetoric of those who advocate open borders and amnesty.

"Our American fighting men did not die for amnesty," Gilchrist proclaims, echoing the sentiment of the billboards, which are aimed at Senator McCain now, and at Senator Kennedy in Massachusetts later. As the main sponsors of the Senate's amnesty proposal, McCain and Kennedy are uppermost in Gilchrist's sights. "If they'd done their job protecting our borders, there would be no need for the Minutemen."

The next billboard location is Los Angeles, where an audacious Minuteman Project billboard, in Spanish, will advise illegal alien intruders to go home.

The "Minuteman Billboard Project" will continue in states whose Senators have expressed support for amnesty.

"These billboards, which are the precursors to others across the nation, are a message to McCain, Kennedy and any other senator who decides to ignore the overwhelming majority of Americans: we will not sit by while you sell out our country. There will be a price to pay when you run for re-election or higher office."
