Downtown Clearwater has begun its transformation with an $8.95 million streetscape project. Infrastructure work on the south side of Cleveland Street is underway. Crews have removed street parking, erected barricades and safety fences, and redirected one lane of traffic in each direction to the north side of Cleveland Street. Four-way stop signs have replaced traffic signals where Cleveland Street intersects with East and Garden avenues. Where work is proceeding on the south side of Cleveland, trenches have been excavated for new utility lines. The infrastructure work on this side of the street is expected to be complete in about six weeks. Businesses are open and accessible. Take advantage of two hours of free parking available at the Garden Avenue Garage. Parking location maps are available through all downtown merchants.
