Westra Construction crews are working on Saturdays to make up for time lost due to unanticipated circumstances that were encountered, so that they will be able to complete Phase I of Beach Walk on schedule. They continue their work on Coronado Drive, where one lane of traffic is open in each direction. During the next two weeks, Westra Construction will be working with public and private utilities to underground utilities from Devon Street to Fifth Street on the west side. Northbound and southbound traffic will flow on the east side of Coronado Drive.
You are invited to attend a Hard Hat Meeting on Tuesday, August 1, 9:30 a.m., at Frenchy's Rockaway Grill, 7 Rockaway Street, on Clearwater Beach. The meeting is an opportunity for all involved to get together to discuss any issues concerning Beach Walk construction. The city continues to work in partnership with the Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), the Clearwater Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce. We continue to look to each of you to identify issues and define possible solutions as we move forward. If you have questions about these meetings, call (727) 562-4024.
The city expects to go to bid for Phases II, III and IV of Beach Walk in mid-September.
Color photos of the Beach Walk construction area have been added to the city's website at www.myclearwater.com/beachwalk.
