
CLEARWATER - Join Gay Wiechec, a senior victim advocate from the Area Agency on Aging, in a presentation where you get the help you need. Seniors are often the target for various crimes. Public education and awareness are important elements in preventing crimes against the elderly. In this presentation learn about the important crimes that target the elderly: telemarketing fraud, mail fraud, financial exploitation, identity theft. Ms. Wiechec will share important tips on how to prevent these crimes from happening to you or someone you know. This presentation will provide information about the Senior Safety Phone Project: cell phones can be life savers.
The lecture will be held on Thursday, August 17, from 9:15 - 10:15 a.m. in the Lois V. Silberman Lounge, free for Center members and $3 for the community participants.
