Patriot Day Contest for Teens!

PALM HARBOR, FL - August 8, 2006 - What does patriotism mean to you? All teens from ages 13-18 are invited to enter their poems, essays, short stories, photographs or the medium of their choice into the Palm Harbor Library's first "Patriot Day Contest". Winners will be announced on Saturday, September 9, at a special award ceremony from 2:00-3:00 p.m., and prizes will be awarded. Mike Eschenfelder, a recent returnee from Afghanistan who served in the 53rd Support Battalion of the Infantry Brigade, will be the guest speaker. All entries will be displayed in the library.

The deadline is Thursday, September 7, and entries should be dropped off to the Children's Department of the Library. For further details, contact Simone Daniek, Young Adult Coordinator, at 727-784-3332, Ext. 206.
