TOURIST DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL OPENINGS

CLEARWATER, FL (August 11, 2006) – The Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners in November will appoint new members to the Tourist Development Council (TDC) that oversees the tourism marketing activities of Pinellas County. As stated in the Pinellas County Ordinance and referenced in Florida Statute 125.0104, the requirements for non-elected official TDC members are that the board is comprised of persons who are involved in the tourist industry and have demonstrated an interest in tourist development with not less than three members nor more than four being owners or operators of motels, hotels, RV parks or other tourist accommodations and subject to the tourist development tax. All applicants must be a Pinellas County resident and registered voter in the county.
