Streetscape crews continue to work on the installation of the 12-inch water main on the north side of Cleveland Street from Ft. Harrison Avenue east toward Garden Avenue. Work also is proceeding on the large storm pipe near the seawall at the bluff. Excavation has been suspended at the CSX railroad crossing on the south side of Cleveland Street pending the results of required environmental testing at the site, and may resume as early as Friday.
Downtown patrons are invited to take advantage of the new one-hour parking places along Osceola Avenue near the Clearwater Main Library. In addition, new signs directing motorists to two hours of free parking in the Garden Avenue Garage during construction have been placed throughout the construction zone. The new signs are easy to spot with the distinctive downtown logo.
Construction sites can be fascinating! If you happen to be downtown, take a look at the progress on the Streetscape. Fenced off sidewalks allow a safe place to walk while you explore and support area businesses at the same time.
