Cleveland Street Streetscape Update

provided by the City of Clearwater

Streetscape crews continue to work on the installation of the 12-inch water main on the north side of Cleveland Street between Ft. Harrison and Garden avenues. Work also continues on the large storm pipe near the seawall at the bluff including construction to accommodate existing underground utility lines.

The north and southbound lanes of Garden Avenue at Cleveland Street may close either Thursday, August 31 or early next week to install the water main across the intersection. Work crews will be observing Labor Day on Monday, September 4 and will not be on-site that day.

New, one-hour parking places are now available along Osceola Avenue near the Clearwater Main Library, and two hours of free parking continue to be available in the Garden Avenue Garage during construction.

Activity at the Streetscape construction site can be fascinating to watch. Fenced off sidewalks allow a safe place to explore while you support area businesses. The most spectacular views are from the pedestrian walkway on the north side of the new Memorial Causeway Bridge, as crews work on the large drain pipe that will empty into the harbor. The pedestrian walkway can be accessed from Court Street around the corner from the County Parking Garage.
