Opera Rocks II: History, Legends, Music and Drama in Clearwater

The Pinellas Opera League presents a series of weekly noontime talks at the downtown Clearwater Public Library, 100 Osceola Ave., Clearwater. All talks take place on consecutive Tuesdays and last for one hour. Dr. Michael L. Blauner describes why famous opera composers chose certain historical subjects as the centerpieces for their operas. Brown bag lunches and snackers are welcome.

September 12 - Mozart's Three "M"s (M)usic, (M)elody and (M)irth. An engrossing examination of the life and times of Mozart.
September 19 - William Tell: Hi Yo - Wait! This is not the version with the Lone Ranger and Tonto.
September 26 - Puccini, La Boheme. The beloved melodies soar in this opera about how to pick up, romance, and drop a gal when the guy is totally broke.
