Moffitt Announces New Web Site

TAMPA - H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute launched its brand new Web site - www.moffitt.org. The launch of the site comes on the heels of the Cancer Center's 20th anniversary. The newly designed site reflects Moffitt's well-known interdisciplinary approach by combining clinical, research, and educational material and relating it to the patient.

Moffitt developed the site with several key factors in mind. The primary goals were to provide users with: an easier navigation system, an intuitive click-through process, and up-to-date educational material. Visitors can quickly focus on finding the information that is relevant to them, within the five main navigation areas: Patients & Families; Researchers; Medical Professionals; Affiliates and Giving. Each area is specifically targeted to appeal to a different audience.

Patients and Families contains everything a patient or family member needs to find - from active clinical trials to clinical programs and enrollment criteria. A peer-reviewed medical educational library, with links directed to Moffitt services, is also a brand-new site feature.

The Researchers and Medical Professionals sections contain information for their respective programs pertaining to services, goals, resources, publication and educational and training opportunities.

Moffitt affiliates have their own voice within the Affiliates section of the site. Membership information and affiliate network trials are among the features that can be found. Also, information about Moffitt's new, state-of-the-art cancer research program Total Cancer Care is presented here.

Soon, patients will be able to access their personal medical records and reconcile their bills online. Researchers, medical professionals, and affiliates will be able to collaborate and share information, all through a secure network.
