Beach Walk construction activity continues. Fifth Street is now paved and open between Coronado Drive and Gulfview Blvd. There are no road closures at present. During the week of October 1st, the contractor plans to place traffic against the east right-of-way on Coronado Drive from Fifth Street to Hamden Drive. This starts "Sequence B" of Phase I, and buried utility work will begin in that area.
In early October, the city will go to bid on Phases II, III and IV of Beach Walk. Bids will be opened on Nov. 16 and the City Council will award the contract on Dec. 14. Phase II construction is expected to begin in January.
