Fall Planting Under Way at Ochs 4-H Center

The fall planting season got under way last week at the Chester Ochs/4-H Educational Center in Largo. Angel Callahan, 8, pictured at right above, gets some help from brother Christopher, 18 months, and mom Dana as she prepares her plot for planting in the 4-H Community Vegetable Garden. The 80-plot garden is open to youth ages 5-18 interested in growing their own vegetables. Seeds and starter plants are provided by the center. Peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and cabbage are among the vegetables Angel selected for her garden. For more information on the community vegetable garden or other 4-H activities and educational workshops held at the Ochs learning center throughout the year, you may call 582-2120.
