LARGO - Enjoy an evening of Florida Cracker Tales with storyteller Butch Harrison on Thursday, October 12, at p.m., in Room B of the John & Rosalie Jenkins Community Wing of Largo Public Library. Butch is a real Florida Cracker who grew up near the ocean in Florida and has spent his entire life respecting the state's natural beauty. He has worked in the Florida Everglades as an airboat guide and photographer, and has served as a relocation specialist for horses and domestic and exotic animals. He has distinguished himself as a fisherman in the shallow waters of the Florida Keys, catching bonefish, permit and tarpon, and has also fished the ocean with great success. Butch will spin yarns about the "real Florida of his youth," touching upon the settling of Florida and the environment.
