Citizens can now review Pinellas County's Fiscal Year (FY) 2007 budget on the county's Web site. The documents are posted at http://www.pinellascounty.org/budget/07Budget/FY2007.htm,
All of the documents are posted in the Portable Data Format (PDF) that requires Adobe Reader, a free plug-in that can be downloaded from a link on the budget page.
The FY07 budget documents include County Administrator Stephen M. Spratt budget message and the actual line item budget with all items listed. The files include all the charts and tables in their original format. The Pinellas County Office of Management and Budget's home page, www.pinellascounty.org/budget also contains budgets from past years and a helpful glossary of budget terminology.
After hearing comments from citizens at two budget public hearings in September, Pinellas County Commissioners voted to lower the countywide millage rate to 6.1 mils, or $6.10 per $1,000 of taxable value on the FY07 budget.
