Beach Walk construction activity continues. There are no road closures at present. Traffic is moving against the east right-of-way on Coronado Drive from Fifth Street to Hamden Drive. The 16-inch water main has been completed from Fifth Street to First Street. The sanitary sewer is also complete at the same location. Individual sewer lateral lines and water service connections are being hooked up.
The City Council intends to award the contract for Phases II, III and IV of Beach Walk in December, and construction should begin as soon as Coronado Drive is completed. The last three phases include relocating Gulfview Boulevard, constructing wide promenades on the east and west sides of the new road, restoring of dunes and adding decorative touches. The goal is to have all work done by mid-2009.
