Ye Mystic Krewe of Santa Margarita Gives a Hoot About Park Preservation.

CLEARWATER, FL- Giving back to the community is what Ye Mystic Krewe of Santa Margarita does best. On Saturday September 9th, 25 members of the Krewe gathered at Coopers Bayou Park in Clearwater to clean up the area, in turn helping with park preservation. "Parks are an important part of family enjoyment and recreation, and we want to help keep them that way. This is just a fun way we can show the community that we care" says Paul Feaster, Krewe President.

Coopers Bayou Park is located on Bayshore Boulevard, the east/west extension of the popular Pinellas Trail next to the alluring waters of Old Tampa Bay in Clearwater. The Krewe adopted the park in the spring of 2005 in hopes of keeping it clean for future visitors and residents of the area. Normally held 2-3 times per year, this is the Krewe's first supervised general park clean up of 2006. Members worked diligently cleaning up the mangrove area around the water- bound section of the bay, restoring the park back to its natural beauty and serenity.

Ye Mystic Krewe of Santa Margarita, founded in 2002, is Clearwater's official Krewe with over 250 members citywide. Taking its name from a Spanish galleon, La Santa Margarita, the Krewe dresses in clothes of royalty as did the passengers on the galleon's final voyage. This civic-minded organization is committed to giving back to the city of Clearwater through entertaining its citizens in parades and festivals as well as supporting local charitable causes, such as the Clearwater Free Clinic.
