City of Clearwater Announces Fall 2006 Neighborhood and Homes of the Quarter

CLEARWATER - The City of Clearwater is proud to announce that Island in the Sun Mobile Home Park and four homeowners were recently selected for the neighborhood and homes of the quarter. Neighborhood and Home Recognition Program celebrates the uniqueness of Clearwater's many neighborhoods and its residents.

The award for Neighborhood of the Quarter acknowledges those neighborhoods that have demonstrated community pride activities, a decrease in code violations, an increase in neighborhood involvement and empowerment, a decrease in neighborhood crime, and neighborhood sustainability.

Nominated for their dedication and perseverance to improving their neighborhood are the residents of Island in the Sun MPH. The Island in the Sun MPH received a Neighborhood of the Quarter sign posted at their main entrance, a certificate presented by the Mayor, and a neighborhood photo mounted on a plaque at the Hall at the October 19 City Council meeting.

The award for "Home of the "Quarter recognizes those homeowners that have maintained or have made significant improvements to their property enhancing the neighborhood and the community. The awards were presented at the October 19 City Council meeting. The following homeowners received a certificate of appreciation, a bronze plaque, and "Home of the Quarter" yard sign.

Sheila Boatwright - 1295 South Martin Luther King Avenue

Applications for the winter awards are available through Neighborhood Services by calling 562-4554. Applications for Winter 2006/07 awards must be received no later than noon on Friday, November 10, 2006. Please mail applications to:
