IRB Historical Society Potluck Luncheon November 4

*Slide talk on Florida's Historical Museum*

The Indian Rocks Historical Society is holding a traditional potluck luncheon on Saturday, November 4, at the historical museum.

All are welcome, members or not - just bring a dish to share. Plates, utensils and beverages are provided. There is no charge.

Wayne Ayers, local author and VP of the historical society, will give a slide talk based on his latest book Florida Grand Hotels from the Gilded Age. The presentation covers these magnificent hotels during their glory years, along with the fashionable entertainment, recreational and social pastimes that engaged their gilded guests.

Featured will be the Belleview Biltmore and the Tampa Bay Hotel (now the University of Tampa) that Henry B. Plant built in the late 1800s, Along with Henry M. Flagler's famed resorts in St. Augustine, Palm Beach and Miami.

Following his presentation, Wayne will be signing copies of his book Florida Grand Hotels from the Gilded Age, along with his two other current books, Tampa Bay's Gulf Beaches and Tampa Bay's Gulf Beaches: The Fabulous 1950s and 1960s.
