More Books, Please! Clearwater Celebrates 87th Annual Children's Book Week

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Young people and their caregivers will discover the complexity of the world beyond their own experience through books as the Clearwater Public Library System celebrates the 87th annual Children's Book WeekTM, Nov. 13 - 19. They join other schools, libraries, homes and bookstores across the country that are introducing young people to authors, illustrators, and books.

Clearwater libraries hope to encourage reading and enhance the community Children's Book Week celebration by offering a series of programs during this week:

Mother Goose Games: Enjoy stimulating activities for youth and their parents/caregivers.

Boca Beth: She teaches Spanish to young children and their parents/caregivers. Visit www.bocabeth.com

The Children's Book Council is a nonprofit trade association that promotes the use and enjoyment of children's trade books and related literacy materials for young people, and is the official sponsor of Young People's Poetry Week and Children's Book Week. The CBC's membership is made up of U.S. publishers and packagers of trade books for children and young adults, and producers of related literacy materials. Proceeds from the sale of CBC materials help support the Council's literacy efforts.
