The initial stage of Pinellas County Utilities Belleair Pipeline Project is scheduled to begin on November 13th. The project will install wastewater pipeline to the new Belleair pump station as well as a reclaimed water pipeline to the Town of Belleair. Upon completion, the currently operating wastewater treatment plant in the Town of Belleair will be decommissioned.
Work will begin in the immediate vicinity of 74th Avenue North and the Pinellas Trail in Seminole (just south of Park Blvd.). The project will be constructed in phases, with the total project taking about one year to complete. The first phase will connect new pipe to an existing wastewater pipeline. Then the project will move north adjacent to the Pinellas Trail. The initial work will be open cut, but subsequent work will utilize Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) to minimize disruption to roadways and the Trail.
The Pinellas Trail will remain open during the project. Construction should be visible but not disruptive to the users of the Trail. Utilities "Green Vest" inspectors will be at the construction site to respond to any on site questions or concerns.
