CLEARWATER - Donations of new or slightly used blankets are now being accepted by the city's youth initiative program, Got Gov! Children who are staying at the Ronald McDonald House in St. Petersburg will use the blankets. Those wising to contribute a blanket should look for collection boxes in Clearwater recreation centers, libraries, the Municipal Services Building and City Hall before Nov. 25.
Got Gov! engages young adults in local government. Students learn about the civic process and help shape their community. They have undertaken this service project in the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Ronald McDonald House provides a home for children and their families while they are undergoing medical treatments at nearby hospitals.
