
ST. PETERSBURG - The 6th Annual Military - Machinery & Memories (Formerly known as Five Centuries of the Military) will be presented Nov. 17 - 19 at the Pinellas Pioneer Settlement, 3130-31st Street South, St. Petersburg.
"This "Memory Lane" event will feature military impressions from all countries, Antique Machinery ranging from Tanks, to Hit and Miss Engines, to Antique Tractors. There will be weapons demonstrations, various military vehicles, tanks and a Korean War Skirmish at 1:30 p. m., Saturday and Sunday.
Some of the main features this year will be the traveling exhibit from the Armed Forces Military Museum, Veterans Memorial Museum, the 5th Regimental Combat Korean War Team and the 1st Florida Chapter of the Military Vehicle Preservation.
The Pinellas Pioneer Settlement is an "old Florida" village nestled in the unspoiled area of Boyd Hill Nature Park. In addition o the Military displays there will be a Blacksmith Shop, Syrup Shed, Saw Mill, Brantley Building General Store, Endicott House and the Summer Kitchen that will be giving Wood Stove Cooking Demos.
This event will be open to schoolchildren from noon to 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, and to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Spectator admission is free, but donations will be greatly appreciated.
