CLEARWATER - An artist reception for the 2006 International parade of Carousel Elephants will be Thursday, Nov. 30, 6-8 p.m. at the Main Library, 100 N. Osceola Ave. Drs. Pallavi and Kiran Patel will introduce some of the artists who designed the elephants.
The public art project features ten carousel elephants designed by local artists to celebrate ten areas of the world. Elephants were chosen to represent the globalization of all nations and nationalities. Their raised trunks are a sign of good luck. After their year- long tour throughout the Tampa Bay area, the elephants will be given to their philanthropist sponsor to be placed wherever they decide.
This event is free and reservations are not required. The elephants will be on display until Jan. 1. For more information, call 562-4970, ext. 5284.
