Michael Brown, Former Under Secretary of U.S. Homeland Security, Will Be the Keynote Speaker at Membership Forum in Clearwater

CLEARWATER - Michael Brown, former Under Secretary of U.S. Homeland Security, will be the keynote speaker for the last Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce Membership Forum of 2006 luncheon. The event will be held Friday, December 1, at 11:45 p.m., at the Belleview Biltmore.

A prominent public figure, Brown has garnered over 25 years in public service focused primarily on disaster planning, preparation and emergency management. He has led the U.S. federal response to over 160 Presidential declared disasters, which have included some of the largest and worst in human history, including the 9/11 terrorist attacks in NYC and the Pentagon; Columbia shuttle disaster in 2003; Bam Iran earthquake; 2003 historic California and Western U.S. Wildfire season; the unprecedented string of hurricanes that swept the Southeastern Untied States in 2004 and 2005; the tsunami in South Asia; and Hurricane Katrina.

He will provide the Greater Clearwater and Upper Tampa Bay area a unique opportunity to gain powerful insight and perspective on emergency preparedness and recovery measures that our local community and business leaders should consider in the event of a natural disaster.
