Lincourt Pharmacy & Spa Adds Carotenoid Laser Scanning Service

CLEARWATER - Louie Ladson, pharmacist and director of Lincourt Pharmacy, is going against the grain of his profession by offering the public an innovative test that measures their anti-oxidant levels. "This fits right in with what we at Lincourt are trying to promote. I can give people the drugs after their bodies have been beaten down, but I'd like to help them avoid that scenario, maybe even to my own detriment, " says Ladson.

The device from Pharmanex® called the BioPhotonic Scanner, provides a way to measure the level of carotenoid antioxidants in the skin. Pharmanex® is the first to use laser technology to non-invasively measure concentrations of carotenoid antioxidants in body tissue. Antioxidants protect the body at the cellular level against disease and the effects of aging, stress, and the environment. "They provide a buffer. Everyday free radicals are bumping into your cells, weakening them," explains Ladson.

The scanner produces a scientifically validated measurement of how a person's diet and supplementation program is protecting his or her body's cells. According to Pharmanex®, the scanner was developed to do away with the inconvenience and high costs associated with blood testing for the information. A recent clinical study published by the American College of Nutrition showed that the scanner is a more reliable measurement of carotenoid antioxidant status than conventional blood serum methods.

The scan is a laser light that shines on one's hand. The test takes 5 minutes. Visitors to Lincourt Spa can come in for open scanning on Mondays and Fridays from 11 am to 3 pm, or on other days by phoning (727)447-4248 for an appointment.

"Anybody who is taking vitamin supplements should come in here and get scanned to see if their vitamins are working or not. This scanner is like a lie detector, and that's why I've invested in it. I've advised people to take vitamins, but they had no way of knowing if they worked. Now they do. Many people that I've scanned so far aren't getting what they need," explained Ladson.

"I've taken vitamins in the past myself. It was a crap shoot. Take this, take that. I've found what's going to help you is a product that is what it says it is . . .100% . . . to protect you from disease and aging."

Louie recommends Pharmanex's® LifePak vitamins to his clients and friends. "They have a product, LifePak Nanno which absorbs into the body 5 to 10 times faster than other vitamins and are guaranteed to raise your antioxidant level or you get your money back. It's not a satisfaction guarantee but a money back guarantee. If your antioxidant score doesn't go up in two months, you get your money returned. I don't know of any other vitamin company that has a guarantee like that."

Louie has personal testimony to share. "I started out with a scan score of 12, 500. After two months of taking LifePak, I was scanned again. My score went only went up to 15,000, because I wasn't taking the vitamins properly, according to directions. After taking them properly, in just one month my score raised to 28,000 and one month later it shot to 31,000."

Says Ladson, "Everybody wants to live longer. And we are. But we want to live longer, better. Health prevention helps you attain that quality of life. And the vitamins and scanner give you the assurance that you are."
