(from left) Ashley Laramee, Bethany Motyl, Caitlin Laramee and Marisa Laramee are happy to talk about the programs, projects and other activities of the Dreamcatchers 4-H Club at the 4-H Open House at the Pinellas Extension Service last month. Members of various 4-H clubs throughout the county took part in the day, which included an extreme gingerbread house-building contest, a cake decorating workshop, public speaking workshop, competitive apple cook-off and more.

Judging the entries in the 4-H Apple Cook-Off at the recent 4-H Open House at the Pinellas County Extension Service was a mouth-watering job for 4-H volunteers (seated from left) Kip Janes, Terry Berube, Richard Berube and assistant county administrator Liz Warren. That's 4-H agent Jean Rogalsky standing at back. The judges presented first place awards to Liz Piquet (for her cider cinnamon apple jelly, adult category), Lisa McBride (for her dish titled "excellent granola" in the healthy adult/children's category), Fleming Family (for their apple coffee cake in the family category) and Caleb Alnes (for his oatmeal apple cookies in the youth category).
