Work continues on Phase I of Beach Walk. The west-side curb was built between Second and Fifth streets on Coronado Drive. The Devon/Hamden sanitary work is also complete. Paving between Devon and Fifth streets will start soon, and the 16-inch water main between the pirate boat and Devon Street will be installed. After that, workers will move onto Hamden to begin installing the 16-inch water main there.
Coronado Drive is closed southbound, just south of the Gulfview Boulevard intersection because the 16-inch water main tap location is in the southbound lane. The detour, which should last no longer than Friday, is south on Gulfview Boulevard to Fifth Street. Traffic is moving along the east right-of-way on Coronado Drive, with work on the west right-of-way. Portable signs remain at the north and south ends of Coronado and the speed limit is posted at 20 miles per hour. Use caution in the construction area.
You're invited to the next Beach Walk Hard Hat meeting 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12 at the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center, 69 Bay Esplanade. For more information, visit myclearwater.com/beachwalk.
