CLEARWATER - Residents of Island Estates: deck the halls! It's time for the annual holiday lighting contest.

Island Estates has long been known for this happy holiday tradition and this year will be no exception. On December 17, starting at 7 p.m., the judging for the annual holiday lighting contest begins!

Judging categories and prizes for each include:

• Best Decorations in the Front of a House (First, Second and Third place);
• Best Water-View (rear) Decorations;
• Best Decorations for a Condominium and Best Decorations for a Business.

Join in the spirit of the season and decorate, or take a stroll and admire the creative and festive holiday lighting of your friends and neighbors.
