
CLEARWATER - Election of officers took place at the Chamber's Annual Membership Meeting and Holiday Breakfast hosted by the Clearwater Yacht Club on Tuesday, December 5.
The incumbent officers were re-elected and are: president, Craig West, Signature Bank; vice president, Rich Vitraelli, Vitraelli & Associates; treasurer, Tommy Duff, Tommy Duff's Irish Aviation Pub; and secretary, Karen Donovan, Treasure Island Casino Cruz.
The Chamber presented the Beautification Award to Marya and Ron Flurnoy for the Royal Camelot on Clearwater Beach and the Chamber Volunteer Awards went to the staff of the Clearwater and Lutz offices of Bruce Szabo, CPA, PA.
Paige Railey, the 19-year-old Olympic hopeful and recently crowned "World Woman Sailor of the Year" - the first American women to ever receive this title, was the guest speaker. Paige received a sailboat trophy from the Chamber, presented by the Chamber President Craig West and Mayor Frank Hibbard. The trophy was inscribed with the words that Paige "had made Clearwater and America proud," to mark her success.
Guests donated baby items such as formula, diapers and food to be delivered to Religious Community Services and Gulf Coast Family Services.
Officers began their new term at the close of this meeting. A mini retreat will be held in January 2007, at the Belleview Biltmore Resort for the officers and directors to kick off a prosperous new year.
