CLEARWATER - The Clearwater City Council will consider two boat slip issues at their December 14th meeting.
The language of a Charter Amendment and Referendum on the proposed downtown boat slips at Coachman Park will be finalized. The language is the result of efforts by City Staff, a focus group led by consultant Susan Schuler, and the City Council. The referendum will be conducted in the March 2007 election.
The Council will also act on a proposed submerged land lease with the Sandpearl Resort on Clearwater Beach. Under the terms of that lease, Sandpearl will construct a 54-slip boat dock in the cove south of the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center, reserving 33 slips for use by resort guests and lease to nearby residents, and providing 21 day slips for use by the public.
