
CLEARWATER, FL (December 20, 2006) – Young women from across the country will not be taking it easy over the holidays. They will learn softball from the best. From December 28-30 Olympians Michele Smith (1996 and 2000), Cat Osterman (2004) and Alicia Hollowell (2004), will join professional coaches Linda Derk, Lucy Casarez and Debbie Schneider instructing young ladies ages 8-18 on the fundamentals of softball the Michele Smith Holiday Camp at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex in Clearwater.
Michele Smith is a two time Olympic Gold Medalist and plays professional softball in Japan. In addition, Michele has also been named Worldwide Ambassador of Softball and is an analyst on ESPN.
“We are so pleased that Michele Smith will be returning to the area to host a great camp,” said Kevin Smith Director of the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Area Sports Commission. “Having Olympians and professional coaches instruct area and visiting youth is a major coup for the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area.”
