Cleveland Street Streetscape Update

provided by the City of Clearwater

Streetscape crews are taking a holiday break this week, although significant progress was made on the streetscape infrastructure and the sidewalk work since the last update. Pedestrians will see new curbs on the south side of the street in the Osceola to Ft. Harrison avenues block. Drain structure installation is complete at the Osceola Avenue intersection, and crews have installed temporary asphalt patches and striping to open the Ft. Harrison and Osceola intersections on the north-south thoroughfares. Traffic is moving smoothly on both routes. When construction resumes next week, crews will continue infrastructure work on the Ft. Harrison Avenue to Garden Avenue block, and streetscape work on the Osceola Avenue to Ft. Harrison Avenue block. In mid January, the Ft. Harrison intersection will be closed for a week to complete the storm pipe installation.

Downtown business owners, residents and stakeholders are invited to attend the next Hard Hat meeting, Thursday, January 25, 8 a.m., at Pickles Plus Too, on the west side of the Harborview Center. Free coffee will be served.

Businesses continue to be open in the construction zone, and two hours of free parking is available in the Garden Avenue Garage, and along Osceola Avenue between the Main Library and Cleveland Street. Downtown construction information is available on the city's website at www.myclearwater.com/downtown, and questions can be addressed through the Streetscape construction office at 462-6126.
