2006 won't be the end of the Historic Belleview Biltmore's monthly "First Friday" wine and cheese tasting. On January 5th, the Biltmore will hold its first "First Friday" of 2007. The event is scheduled to be in the elegant Tiffany Ballroom and will be held from 5 - 7 p.m.
First Fridays began as a promotional tool for the Belleview Biltmore Resort. The idea was to have a once a month gathering of locals and guests of the hotel to come together and enjoy the beautiful 110-year-old hotel. Since the first "First Friday" in November of 2005, the crowds have grown from 40 guests to nearly 200 at every event.
In May of 2005 the hotel began inviting local charities to the event to prosper from donations by the guests. Throughout the rest of 2006 groups like CairFlight, Coldwell Banker Cares, Support Our Troops and FORCE have been invited to take part in this once a month event. By the end of 2006 the Biltmore had raised a total of over $5,000 combined for these charities.
The community support will continue throughout 2007 as the Biltmore invites the Boys and Girls Club to January's "First Friday." The public is invited to this complimentary wine and cheese tasting on January 5th. The Boys and Girls Club will be accepting donations for their cause.
