CLEARWATER, FL- January 9, 2007 -Tired of waiting in line to pay a fine? If you get a ticket in Pinellas County, you don't have too. In addition to internet and telephone payment options, the Clerk of the Circuit Court now has kiosks for payments of fines from misdemeanor and felony cases, municipal and county ordinances, and boating and traffic citations, Ken Burke, Clerk of the Circuit Court announced today.
The payment kiosks will be placed in the lobbies of the Clerk's North County and Tyrone branches this Wednesday, January 10, 2007. Customers may pay fines using their debit or credit card or by using their checking account numbers to pay by electronic check.
"We already offer several payment options. People can pay fines on our website, by mail or drop box, or by using our voice activated citation payment telephone number, said Burke. This just provides another alternative to make the process as convenient as possible. We don't want people to feel like they have to take hours out of their day to take care of fines."
The payment is processed by Link2Gov Corporation, the same company that processes the Clerk's online and telephone-automated citation payments. Link2Gov's standard 3.5% service fee applies at the kiosks. The payments are processed within 24 hours using any of the alternatives, according to Burke.
