The Pottery Studio at the Beach Art Center is offering a pottery class for ages 12 and up. Teens will learn to throw on the wheel, handbuild, learn the use of glazes, extruder, slab roller and all techniques related to creating beautiful pieces of art. The class is fun and makes an excellent after school activity.
Instructing is Jane Erickson, who conducts the adult and young children's classes. She has taught pottery for twelve years both here and in California.
The class will be held on Monday, 6-8:30 p.m. at the Beach Art Center Pottery Studio at 1515 Bay Palm Blvd. in Indian Rocks Beach. Fees are $60 each four weeks for art center members and $80 each for week for nonmembers. There is also a materials fee of $20 which covers clay, glazes and firing. This fee is applicable only at the beginning or when a student has used 25 lbs of clay and must purchase more.
